Happy Mother's Day!

Greetings, greetings, greetings!

I am so blessed and happy to celebrate Mother's Day today,

6 years cancer free,

and the 6 year anniversary of my blog "The Sacred Ordinary!'

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

God is good!

If you do not already know my story, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 invasive lobular carcinoma, a form of breast cancer, in April 2010.  I wrote this blog all through cancer camp, which included 5 months of chemo, a bilateral mastectomy, 7 weeks radiation and a DIEP breast reconstruction.  In six years I've had 9 surgeries.  I have walked through the Valley of the Shadow of Death and into the Kingdom of Lost Breasts, and come out the other side.  I'm not all original parts, but my gratitude for my precious perfect imperfect life is carried like starlight and gold in my pockets.

Oh what I would have missed if cancer had its way with me!

These things I know for sure Dear Reader, much of it bought and paid for the hard way.

Bad things happen in this life, to everybody.  You're going to get your heart broken, you'll be betrayed and disappointed.  You'll be flying high and living large, then be gutted like a salmon.  You'll lose people you love, and wonder how you'll ever go on without them.  The unexpected will happen, and in a flash, your whole life can change and will. Your life from birth to death will successively be in one of these 3 categories:

You're going through something;

You're getting over something; or

You're about to go through something.

This is the nature of this life.  You can't change what happens to you.  You can though, with practice and prayer, change how you think about it and what you do about it.

I've found that God does listen and prayer does change things, but often not the outcome you were hoping for.  1000% of the time though, prayer changed me. It gave me the peace, strength and comfort to go through, get over, and be prepared for what's coming.

John 14:27
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you.  I do not give to you as the world gives.  Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

So there you have it.  This is how you get it.

John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.

I'm a whosoever.

That was then.

This is now.

Be encouraged.

Speak life into your life.

This ain't no dress rehearsal.

Today is the day that the Lord has made!

Thank you thank you thank you for all your love, support and encouragement.  It kept me going.

Stay tuned.

I'm back!
