There is something about Autumn; sad and beautiful.  Just a week ago our tree in the front yard was on fire.  Now most of the crimson and orange leaves are scattered on the lawn and flagstone path.  All the majesty and richness are memories, as if when each leaf let go of the tree, something was ending. Winter is coming.  The crunch of leaves under my feet asks will you remember me?

Our Fall this year was filled with glory.

We celebrated Cara's 23rd birthday.

We cried with joy when Adam proposed at the lake over Labor Day weekend.

Our hearts were broken when Cara left us in the early morning hours of Sunday, September 14.

Autumn, the year's last loveliest smile.  William Cullen Bryant.

For me, the year's last loveliest smile will always be this one.

How beautiful leaves grow old.  How full of light and color are their last days.  John Burroughs

We will never forget the beauty and the light and the color of your last days Cara. Like Autumn gold and heaven's starlight in our pockets.

We carry you with us.
